Fall holds the promise of new beginnings. It’s a fresh start for so many things- the start of school, back to work, new hearty fall recipes, pumpkin spice everything, and the seasonal temperature changes that has us turning our attention back inside our homes.
Scenes of fall conjure up images of the beautiful autumnal leaves, roaring fires and warm drinks, and beautiful table scapes set for holiday entertaining. There are simple things you can do to create a fall mood in your home. And by simple I really mean simple- you don’t need to fill every surface with pumpkins. Select one or two areas in a room and create a focal point. For example, you can add colour to your sofas with some rich velvet pillows in all the warm camel, moss, or burgundy tones. Then add a beautiful sculptural vase on your coffee table with a single branch- something snipped from the garden or some dried wheat or grasses. Layering in other textiles in the form of chunky knit throws, or nubby rugs and clean, lightly scented candles will thoughtfully curate your fall mood.
